Southeastern Virginia Alumnae Chapter History

Our group is rich in history and has a diverse group of women. Our membership includes young alumnae, parents, singles and "Golden Thetas". Originally founded as a Club back in the 1960's, the SEVA Thetas have been gathering for fun, fellowship and love of Kappa Alpha Theta for decades. In 2002, the then South Hampton Roads Alumnae Club became a chapter. In 2012, we changed our name to "The Southeastern Virginia Alumnae Chapter" to better represent the area where our members live. We are glad you are visiting our page and hope that you will consider joining our group.

The Southeastern Virginia Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta has been a proud member of The Tidewater Alumnae Panhellenic Association for many years. TAPA has both active chapter members and individual members of NPC Alumnae groups from around the Greater Hampton Roads area. The group offers a variety of programming and focuses on recognizing the outstanding achievements of Panhellenic women through its scholarship program and Greek Woman of the Year award. TAPA meets from September through May of each year. Meetings are fun events open to all Panhellenic members and are usually held at area restaurants.

There are 7 active College Chapters in the Commonwealth of Virginia including:
Beta Lambda - College of William & Mary

We would like to strengthen our relationships with these chapters especially those without a local Alumane Group to support them (UVA, JMU & Washington & Lee). If you are interested in spearheading these efforts or participating in any projects with the collegians, please let us know.
